Netflix Joins Film Adaptation of Sifu

It was already known that a Sifu film was in the works, but now it's been confirmed that Netflix has joined the project.

According to Deadline, it was announced in 2022 that Sifu would be getting a movie adaptation. The story largely follows the plot of the game, with the protagonist aging after each defeat. The film is described as a combination of John Wick and M. Night Shyamalan's Old.

However, it was recently announced that Netflix has joined the production. TS Nowlin, who is known for the The Maze Runner films, is writing the script. It was previously reported that Derek Kolstad, the writer of John Wick, would be responsible for the script, but that appears not to be the case. There is speculation that Chad Stahelski, the director of John Wick, will produce the film together with his production company 87Eleven Entertainment.

There is no official release date for the film yet.
